In 1967, a small Melbourne store quietly began what would become a significant chapter in Australian homewares retail. That store was Minimax.

At a time when Melbourne was only just beginning to see specialty retail emerge, Minimax stood apart. From humble beginnings founded by Ray and Jean Harrison, Minimax began as a modest hardware store, selling hose fittings and light bulbs.

As Melbourne evolved, so did Minimax. Two generations of the Harrison family oversaw the shift from hardware to premium homewares, introducing the finest European and lifestyle brands to Australian homes. Today, under the stewardship of the Blythe family, Minimax continues its journey as a thriving, family-owned business expanding across Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania.
