Together, we created

Meals for Australians in Need

With your help, we have made a difference. Last October, we collaborated with Foodbank ambassadors Hamish Blake and Chrissie Swan, along with Attica head chef Ben Shewry, MasterChef dessert queen Kirsten Tibballs, and model/presenter Bec Judd, to create art-filled spatulas to raise funds and awareness for Foodbank.

Thanks to your support, we've made a significant impact. This week, we had the privilege of delivering the donation to Foodbank, which many of you generously contributed to during the Christmas shopping season. Our customers embraced these one of a kind spatulas, resulting in a $110,000 donation to Foodbank, providing 220,000 meals to Australians in need.

Recognising the financial strain many families face, we felt it was the opportune moment to lend a hand to those that need a little help in putting food on the table. We're thrilled that many of our customers shared our sentiment and contributed to this worthy cause.

Andrea McCormick, CEO of Minimax, met with Matt Tilley, Chief Communications Officer of Foodbank, and Foodbank Ambassador Chrissie Swan to present the Minimax cheque and gain insight into how the funds will support local communities where the spatulas were sold.

Thank you for buying one of our iconic spatulas & helping us fight hunger in Australia.

About Foodbank

Foodbank is the largest food relief organisation in Australia. Last year they sourced 45.6 million kilograms of food and groceries – that’s 82 million meals.

They are dedicated to ensuring that everyone, particularly everyday Australians facing food shortages, has access to quality food. Collaborating with 2,625 frontline charities and 2,890 school breakfast programs, the organisation distributes over 87.9 million meals annually to those in need.

In the past year, 2 million households experienced periods of hunger, and 1.3 million children lived in severely food-insecure homes. Households with children are 1.5 times more likely to face severe food insecurity than the national average. Foodbank Australia operates as a not-for-profit, non-denominational, federated organization across all states and territories in Australia. It is the only Australian food relief organization certified by The Global Foodbanking Network (GFN), consisting of 32 member countries, with 19 accredited members.

To address food insecurity, Foodbank Australia collaborates extensively with the food and grocery industry, including farmers, wholesalers, manufacturers, and retailers, to source and collect donations. It also partners with suppliers, manufacturers, and transporters to produce staple foods not readily available through rescue channels.

Foodbank Victoria

Whether it’s everyday emergencies or in times of crisis, Foodbank Victoria has been providing vital food relief to vulnerable Victorians for more than 90 years. Through our network of over 450 charity partners across the State, we’re able to provide 1.5 million meals a month to Victorians in need. And while supporting our charity partners is at the core of what we do, as the State’s dedicated emergency food relief organisation, we’re also here to assist Victorians through times of crisis.

Our vision is healthy food for all. We believe that all Victorians should have regular access to healthy food. That’s why we work with partners right across the food and grocery sector, from farmers and growers right through to retailers, to source and rescue essential food and grocery items to redistribute to Victorians in need.

Together, We Raised

100,000

Meals for Australians in Need

With your help, we have made a difference. We had the pleasure of handing over our donation to Foodbank which many of you contributed to over the Christmas shopping period in 2022. Our customers donated an amazing $43,344 and we thought $50,000 was a better number, so Minimax made up the difference to reach $50,000.

With the cost of living pressures many families are experiencing, we felt it was the right time to help those that need a little help in putting food on the table & we were delighted that many of our customers agreed and contributed also.

Andrea McCormick (CEO-Minimax) & Rose Edlund (National Sales Manager – Minimax) met with Matt Tilley, Chief Communications Officer from Foodbank to hand over the Minimax cheque & learn about how the funds will help the local communities. The $50,000 has been distributed across Australia, in each state where the donations were made. Our sincere thanks for digging deep this Christmas & helping us fight hunger in Australia.
