Back-to-School Bento Boxes

Filling your child’s bento box with a mixture of colours, shapes and textures will keep empty tummies full, and they’ll never know it’s healthy.

Follow these tips for an empty lunchbox every day.

Make sure your box contains:

  • Protein
  • Fruit
  • Veggies
  • Wholegrains

Wraps are a fun way to add interest to your lunchbox.

Think variations such as:

  • Turkey, cream cheese, cranberries, and spinach
  • Ham, cheese, and lettuce
  • Hummus, roasted capsicum, and spinach

Create interesting shapes with your fruit by using a melon baller or slicing your fruit and using small cookie cutters.

Hummus is a great dip to include, and it can be easily tweaked by adding roasted beetroot, pureed spinach or turmeric to create striking colours.

Crunchy, munchy veggie sticks or slices are always a winner. If you vary the colours and shapes, and provide a varied range of textures, your child will never be bored with their lunch.
