About Riedel

GRAPE VARIETY SPECIFIC - RIEDEL'S BENCHMARK SINCE 1986, LEAD CRYSTAL, MACHINE-BLOWN IN BAVARIA/GERMANY

Introduced in 1986, Vinum was the first machine-made series of glasses in history to be based exclusively on the characteristics of quality, reasonably price and wide distribution. Vinum has had a permanent impact on the globe's wine glass culture. These glasses have proved to consumers and restaurateurs that the pleasure of consuming wine starts with the glass. The Vinum collection, developed by Georg Riedel on the principle that the content commands the shape, is the "Vitrum-Vinothek" for every day use.

Available from Minimax online and Minimax in-store.
Key Features
Gift boxed in pairs. CAUTION: these products are grape-varietal specific. Using them correctly will prove they are not simply glasses, but tools for wine enjoyment. VINUM (1986) is Riedel's basic stemmed series. This series was created by Georg J. Riedel, based on the Sommeliers range, in order to make Riedel varietal-specific glassware more accessible to the general consumer. This glass is perfect for young, full-bodied (more than 12 percent alcohol), complex red wines that are high in tannin. It smooths out the rough edges: emphasizing the fruit, playing down the bitter qualities of the tannin, and allowing wines to achieve a balance that would normally take years of ageing to acquire. The generous size of this glass allows the bouquet to develop fully. All Riedel glasses are dishwasher safe.
