Originating in Essex UK, Ben Knights started his cooking career at age 15. He trained under award-winning Chef Mark Baumann at Baumann’s Brasserie, under whom Knights developed the experience and knowledge required to become a chef. To enhance his understanding of food preparation and gourmet cooking, Knights has pursued experience in a butchery and with fishmongers. His career has seen him work by professional Chefs and restaurants including M on the Point, Fennes Estate and the Whistling Kite.

Knight’s passion and commitment to the industry opened the opportunity for him to assist gourmet catering company Chef de Home establish their company. His charismatic demeanor aided his love for cooking to be shared with his rapidly growing network of clients. This experience allowed a unique and intimate opportunity to get to know the Western Australian palates and preferred dining experiences.

With a sound understanding across all cooking fields, he now is head Chef for Whitelakes Brewing, a micro-brewery located in Baldivis, Western Australia. This opportunity has allowed him to reach a broader consumer group, and an opportunity to get to know a client base of different palate preferences.

Knights is renowned for his personal need to get every meal as close to perfect at possible, and is very critical of the work he produces. Ben’s dedication to cooking alongside his sense of accomplishment and satisfaction he gets from preparing something outstanding, is why he is such a viable ambassador for Wüsthof Australia. \r\n
