Here at Denby, we pride ourselves on the strength and exceptional craftsmanship of our pottery, which we've been making in England for over 200 Years. We still source our super strong Derbyshire clay from just behind our factory as we did centuries ago. And using time-honoured skills and traditions, we turn it by hand into beautiful stoneware.
Four generations back, artists in Derbyshire became pottery pioneers when they used their skills to turn strong clay into the famous Denby collections we love today. We're proud that their skills and attention to detail are still very much alive. We now have over 5000 glazes and a growing range of distinctive colours, shapes and patterns - all hand finished, so no piece is ever exactly the same. In fact, only after being passed through 25 pairs of hands is each piece then awarded the Denby seal of approval.
Today we continue to go from strength to strength, crafting timeless collections that exude English heritage and seeking out current trends to create modern ones.

Denby Studio Grey is part of Denby's wider Studio collection which is inspired by the trend for a natural aesthetic in the home using honest materials and ceramic crafting techniques. With a dramatic charcoal band of colour framing many items and its contemporary granite and quartz-coloured textured, reactive glazes, Studio Grey creates a casual, uncluttered yet impactful look which works around the home and far beyond the kitchen.
This quality stoneware collection, which is made in Denby's 200 year old factory in Derbyshire, England, features a range of bowls in many shapes and sizes for a variety of foods and uses for ultimate versatility, and coupe plates and platters are designed with laid-back dining and entertaining in mind. The range is highlighted with a number of impactful lifestyle pieces such as the handleless mug which is ideal for herbal tea, a smoothie and as a pen or toothbrush holder; the ceramic tile which can be used as a mug coaster, small canape plate or a tea light base or small ridged bowls which are perfect for dips and tapas sharing or even as jewellery and trinket dishes.
